REVIEW
The name Knabe on a piano merchant's window means that that estab-
lishment is headquarters for "the world's best piano."
The Knabe represents three-quarters of a century of piano progress—
seventy-five years of continuous effort in the production of pianos which
shall fully measure up to the most exacting requirements of the musically
critical.
These are points which are well worthy of the careful consideration of
piano merchants in every section of the country.

THE MUSIC TRADE REVIEW
EXPANSION OF STARR CO.'S BUSINESS IN INDIANAPOLIS.
TO GIVE UP STORE IN ERIE, PA.
Marked Development in Wholesale and Retail Fields the Past Two Years—Main Store in
Indianapolis Enlarged—Other Stores Show Progress—New Starr Branch in Terre Haute.
Stranburg Music House to Concentrate Business
at Headquarters in Jamestown, N. Y.
(Special to The Review.)
INDIANAPOLIS, IND., October 19.—Judging from
the plans being carried out by the Indiana division
of the Starr Piano Co., one could not think of
hard times or war. In the past two years the Starr
Piano Co. has opened two stores that are proving
successful, and on Saturday last opened what is
said to be the prettiest exclusive piano and player-
piano store in this State, at 30 and 32 North Sixth
street, Terre Haute.

The Starr Piano Co. has been represented in
Terre Haute by a local dealer for years, but has
felt the necessity of having its own store in order
to better look after the local trade and the large
surrounding territory.
There has been a steady improvement in the busi-
ness of the Starr Piano Co. since E. W. Exley, who
has been for the past two years district manager
for Indiana and a part of Illinois and Kentucky,
took charge. He has reorganized the entire Starr
organization in this State. The main store in In-

townsmen and from piano men visiting Bingham-
ton on the beautiful new Flory-Williamson build-
ing, which was recently completed. It is located at
109 Chenango street and its graceful architectural
lines are indicated in the accompanying photograph.
The building has a frontage of 68 feet and a depth
of 300 feet, and represents an investment of $80,000.
It houses an unusually fine moving picture
theater, which has been leased, and there are spaci-
ous stores on either side of the theater entrance. In
all probability the Flory-Williamson Co. will itself
move to the new building when the lease on the
present quarters expires.
The company handles the following lines of
pianos: The Knabe, Kranich & Bach, Cable-Nel-
son, Haines Bros., Krakauer and Bush & Lane.
SUDDEN DEATHJ)F^ PIANO MAKER.
Henry Brickhardt, a piano maker, residing at
1244 Tinton avenue, the Bronx, died suddenly on
Friday evening at the Forty-second street station
of the Third avenue elevated railroad, while wait-
ing for a northbound train. Dr. Cahill, of Bel-
levue Hospital, stated that Mr. Brickhardt had died
of apoplexy.
