THE MUSIC TRADE REVIEW
THE POINT OF VIEW.
(Continued from page 5.)
will agree that we have hit upon the only practical
method of dealing with the big national problem
of bringing technical knowledge alike to the man
at the bench in the big city and to the tuner out
in the country.
Lastly, we are not a secession from any organi-
zation, nor a rival to any. So far as I can see, we
stand alone, having none but the most cordial feel-
ings toward all fellow workers.
I am heartily glad of the opportunity to tell these
things through the medium of your Point of View
Department.
NEW BUILDING SOON TO BE READY.
The Structure Being Erected for the Pratt,
Read Player Action Co. Will Give Needed
Room for Manufacturing Needs.
The increasing popularity of the player actions
made by the Pratt, Read Player Action Co., Deep
River, Conn., is evident from the fact that a new
building with about 75,000 square feet of floor
space is now rapidly approaching completion.
For some time past the player action department
on the top floors of the main building of Pratt,
Read & Cd. has been found. inadequate, and this
new building will supply much needed room to
meet the growing demand for this player action.
The new plant, which is four stories high, with
an L, is of modern reinforced concrete construc-
tion and absolutely fireproof. There is also a
single story building for a power plant, which will
ibe equipped with a fifty-horsepower engine and
boilers with a capacity of about double that figure.
When this building is occupied it will give the
Pratt, Read Player Action Co. splendid facilities
to meet the rapidly growing demands for its prod-
ucts, which have won a great deal of favor with
discriminating manufacturers throughout the
country.
The Pratt, Read player mechanism has won par-
ticular praise because of the solidity of its con-
struction, its remarkably effective repetition and
responsiveness to the demands of the operator.
