THAT at least one expert pianist for a publish-
ing house thought his playing was perfect until he
heard it reproduced accurately by a player-piano.
THAT in a ragtime hit about the only sectio,n of
the piece that was absolutely correct on the first
trial music roll was the title.
THAT in view of the probable action of the pop-
ular music publishers in the matter of payment for
singers it will be the wise singers who arrange for
their next season's co.stumes now, while the getting
is good.
THAT Meyer Cohen, professional manager for
Charles K. Harris, who spent some days in Chicago
recently, states that prospects for next season in
the West are very encouraging.
THAT the usual list of music publishers and their
representatives sailing for Europe this summer is
noticeably slim.
THAT several of the members of the Knights of
Harmony are figuring out ways in which to get
hold of the funds of the organization from Theo-
dore Morse, the treasurer. The present balance be-
ing $19.35 and well worth the effort these days.
THAT one dealer rises to inquire as to the real
difference between popular and production music,
and why.
THAT a difference of 10 cents or more in the
wholesale price answers both questions.
THAT with music teachers, women's clubs and
the Congress of Mothers against them, popular
songs should sell better than ever next season.
THAT the label "Passed by the National Board
of Censors" for popular music seems nearer every
dav.

It's what ia inside of the Sterling that has made its repu-
tation. Every detail of its construction receives thorough
attention from expert workmen—every material used in its
construction is the best—absolutely. That means a piano
of permanent excellence in every particular in which a
piano should excel. The dealer sees the connection between
these facts and the universal popularity of the Sterling.
