THE
NEW MUSICAL^OMEDY SOON.
"In Sunny Spain" to Be Produced Early Next
Season by Adam & Guhl—The Work of Fran-
cis X. Conlan.
The production of Adam & Guhl's new musical
comedy, "In Sunny Spain," will be one of the most
pretentious and novel to play the Stair & Havlin
circuit during the coming season.
The company, including the principals, hovers
around the thirty mark, and there was quite a re-
ception at the station last week when the entire
party left for Erie, Pa., where the introductory
performance will be given the first week in July.
The complete book, lyrics and music of "In
Sunny Spain" were written especially for the pro-
duction by Francis X. Conlan. Leo Feist will pub-
lish the music.
EARL CARROLL'S NEW VENTURE.
Young Lyric Writer to Go in for Real High
Flying.
Earl Carroll, the youthful lyric writer who wrote
the words to the melody of Enrico Caruso's $10,-
000 love ballad, "Dreams of Long Ago," and, in-
cidentally, splits half of the accruing royalties with
the noted tenor, intends to take up aeroplaning in
order to be able to "fly" at the proper height when
his royalty check appears in July.

TRENTINI'S NEW OPERA
Will Be Called "The Firefly" and Firml Will
Write the Music.
Arthur Hammerstein announced Monday that the
title, "The Firefly," had been selected for the new
opera in which Mile. Trentini will be presented
next season. Mr. Hammerstein has completed ar-
rangements through Frank Osgood, the Munich
representative of G. Schirmer, with Rudolph Friml
to compose the music.
Rudolph Friml is a Bohemian pianist and was
born in Prague. Two of his works, both orchestral
ballets, "Auf Japan" and "Heilfried," are now
being given at the Dresden Hofoper. He will sail
for this country in two weeks to confer with Otto
Hauerback, who is the author of the book and
lyrics of "The Firefly."
The cast to support Mile. Trentini will include
Arthur Deagon, Craig Campbell, Henry Vogel,
Marjorie Horjan, Ruby Norton, Sammy Lee and
Mile. De Rosa. There will be a chorus of sixty
and the production will be staged under the direc-
tion of Fred Latham, who is noted for his ability
