ROME, ITALY, August 28th, 1911.
T H E EVERETT ^IANO CO.,
Boston, Mass.
Gentlemen:
The Everett Piano, which in accordance with my wishes you shipped to the Academy of St. Cecilia at
Rome, has now been in the great Hall of that institution for six months.
During this time it has been put to every use—nay, even stress—to which a piano can be justly sub-
jected, and it in every way more than meets all the anticipations I had formed of it; and these anticipations
I assure you were very exalted ones.
It has been much played upon by myself, my most advanced pupils, and some distinguished visiting
artists, in solo, accompaniment and ensemble work with Orchestra, and has been unanimously judged the
ideal piano. Mme. Teresa Carreno was much pleased to find here an Everett, her favorite piano.
The Everett's tone is distinctive, combining as it does, rich, full sonority, clarity and delicacy, with the
most wondrous sustaining or singing quality; and on it can be produced to its fullest, every translatable
expression of musical thought or nuance; its tone is perfection in piano tone.
Its action is certain, light, responsive, enabling one to produce with minimum effort all desired
gradations from the vigor of brio to the utmost grazia.
No piano could better fulfill my ideal of what a piano should be.
Its possession is a source of satisfaction to us, and your Country should be rightfully proud of your
ability as piano makers.
With great respect, I beg to remain,
Yours sincerely,
G. SGAMBATI.
