Carols, Anthems, a Cantata, and a Communion
Service Just Published by Oliver Ditson Co.
The Oliver Ditson Co., Boston, Mass., have just
issued a special edition of music for Christmas,
consisting of carols and anthems, which, owing to
the approach of the holidays should prove of much
interest to dealers and their customers. The music
is arranged for mixed voices and voices in unison
and should not only be effective for church use
but also in the home. The list prices, which range
from five to sixteen cents for single copies and in
some cases reductions being offered in quantities,
lend attraction to the proposition.
Among other recent Ditson publications is "The
Story of Bethlehem," a cantata for Christmas, by
William R. Spence and arranged for soli, chorus
and organ and a Communion Service in A flat, by
William Reed, and containing Kyrie Eleison,
Credo, Scantus, Benedictus qui Venit, Agnus Dei
and Gloria in Excelsis. Both of the works are
worthy additions to the extensive Ditson library of
sacred music.

A three weeks run at the Grand Opera House is
an unusual event; indicates the popularity of the
artist, and the great success, both artistic and
financial, which has followed him in his new
vehicle 1 ever since its first production in San Fran-
cisco early in the season.
Apart from the play, which is full of romance
and Okott's good humor, nearly all of the songs
have proven selling hits. News travels fast and

Tempest and Sunshine and Other Vaudeville
People Find That the Music Has Merit.
Tempest and Sunshine, the popular vaudeville
duo, who have proof of their success in the fact
that they have been held over at Hammerstein's for
the second week, a rare occurrance during the
winter season, are featuring "I Live Up Town,"
"Banjo Tunes" and "The Maid from Kankakee,"
all published by the F. B. Haviland Pub. Co., and
the latter two numbers being restricted to their
personal use
Among the other Haviland songs that are mak-
ing good and are being used by a large number of
performers, are "There's a Dixie Girl Who's Long-
ing for a Yankee Doodle Boy," "Honeylove" and
"Nothing to Do Till To-Morrow," the latter song
being based on the well-known series of cartoons
by "Tad" in the New York Evening journal.
