SPECIAL INTERESTS PIANO DEALERS

THE VALUE OF A PIANO AGENCY
A Subject Worthy of the Consideration of the Trade Early
in the New Year.
W
HEN you consider the result which
a single agency may have upon the
business of a merchant for a year
it becomes at once interesting to weigh the ad-
vantages which may be gained by the acquiring
of certain piano agencies.
Some dealers make a great mistake in think-
ing that they should have an endless variety of
pianos in stock.
That is not essential.
A carefully selected line is of infinitely
greater advantage to the dealer than to secure
the representation for every piano.
In the first place if a man has too many
pianos he is not liable to do well with any one.
Dealers should be careful in weighing the
different points to be gained by their association
with certain pianos.
Take the Christman.
It is a fact that no piano in this country has
moved ahead and gained greater favor with the
dealers than the Christman during the past two
or three years.
And why?
In the first place the Christman possesses
unusual merit.
It is no ordinary piano.
It is different from any product on the
market.
It is a piano which satisfies the most culti-
vated musical tastes of this country.
It is supervised carefully by members of
the Christman family and it possesses individual
features, which at once commend it to music
lovers.
The Christman Small Grand is unquestion-
ably the best grarid of the small creations on the
market.
Fair-minded men admit this and the wonder
is this dainty creation is only five feet over all
and yet it has a tone which has always been
associated only with the large grand creations.
Now, if you wish a small grand of musical
qualities and you have time to visit the Christ-
man factory at 597-601 East 137th Street, New
York, you will be entertained and charmed.
If you haven't time let Uncle Sam carry a
message for you.

and Art" is now on the press.
It covers the player field completely and is really two books in one.
It is handsomely bound, illustrated, and contains a vast amount of
instructive matter which will be of great value to dealers and salesmen—
in fact to all those who are interested in piano player development.
It will be sent to any address in the United States postpaid upon
receipt of $1.50. Foreign Countries, $1.65.
Other technical works which we have issued are:
" Theory and Practice of
Pianoforte Building "
"THEORY AND PRACTICE OF PIANO-
FORTE BUILDING" is the only book
ever put forth in the English lan-
guage wherein piano making is intel-
ligently treated. There are various
illustrations in this book and it tells
all about the piano in every stage of
its development. It is a book which
should be in the library of everyone

intelligently when they know all
about it. The book contains nearly
two hundred pages, is beautifully
bound in cloth and illustrated.
"The Piano or Tuner's
Guide"
is the standard work upon tuning in
this country and it has been endorsed
by dealers and repairers everywhere.

hundred pages, is handsomely bound
in cloth, and illustrated.
