THE
ThEREVIEWflEARS
THAT the representatives of no less than three
music publishers, viz.—Fred Day, of Francis,
Day & Hunter; Walter Eastman, of Chappell &
Co., Ltd., and Max and Louis Dreyfus and
Jerome D. Kern, of T. B. Harms & Co.—"crossed
the pond" this summer.
THAT the offices of Willis Woodward & Co. are
not on 28th street, but at 1193 Broadway, where
they have been located for some months.
THAT those who claim to be of the music
trade should at least take the trouble to dissemi-
nate correct news.
THAT there may be some excuse for ignorance
in one whose "interest in the trade is only about
fix months' old," but there is certainly none for
those who have grown gray in the music pub-
lishing world.
THAT the man who invented the word "Lalla-
paloosa" has been discovered in the person of
W. Murdoch Lind, a song by that name having
been published by T. B. Harms & Co.
THAT as the Grand Jury have not yet returned
a true bill against the offender we must perforce
control ourselves.
THAT the "Words and Music Club" have now
an opportunity of showing that they are indeed
a friendly organization.
THAT poor little Hugh Cannon, the writer of
"Bill Bailey," "Ain't Dat a Shame" and "Just
Because She Made Them Goo Goo Byes," is in
Detroit sorely in need of assistance.
THAT the new Paul M. Potter-Vincent Bryan
musical comedy will not be called "The Queen
cf the Moulin Rouge."
THAT, as we recently announced, Harry Cooper,
late of the Empire City Quartet, is now a full-
fledged music publisher, with offices at 120 West
41st street.
THAT the Ted Snyder Publishing Co. was
lately incorporated, with a capital of $10,000. I t
may be remarked that Henry Watterson, of the
Crown Jobbing Co., is a director of the concern.
THAT the International Sheet Music Co. has
been established in Milwaukee by George Steffen,
late secretary of the Rohlfing & Sons Music Co.,
to publish music. All the published successes
