THE
WITMARK NUMBERS ON BROADWAY.
Five New Songs Being Featured in Musical
Comedies—What They Are and Who Sing
Them—"The Three Twins" Still Holds Pub-
lic Favor.
There are now no less than five new produc-
tion numbers running in the new musical plays
on Broadway, published by M. Witmark & Sons.
In Chas. Frohman's "Fluffy Ruffles," in which
Hattie Williams is appearing, "Take a Puff, Puff,
Puff," sung by Miss Williams herself, and written
by Kenneth S. Clark, a Princeton graduate, is
looked upon as a coming success. By the way,
Mr. Clark is author of "My Diabolo Beau," one of
the best song numbers in "The Soul Kiss." "In
Love's Bouquet," by Edwin S. Brill, and sung by
Jack Gardner, is also a feature of this production,
being a dainty novelty number which is taking
three or four encores nightly.
At the Knickerbocker Theater, where another
of Chas; Frohman's productions, "The Girls of
Gottenberg," is playing, three Witmark songs are
enlivening this dainty production. One of these
a toast song, called "Here's to the Girl!" is by
Will R. Anderson, who wrote the now famous
little song, "Jus-:t Someone." "Here's to the Girl!''
is sung by the English baritone, Mr. Overtoil
Moyle, and a male chorus of sixteen voices. An-
other song of the novelty order is entitled,
"Queenie Was There with Her Hair in a Braid."
and is the work of John E. Hazzard (of "Ain't It
Awful, Mabel," fame), and Win. T. Francis. With
this, Miss Louise Dresser is winning applause at
each performance. "Clementine," the music of
which is also by W. T. Francis, is another num-
ber sung by Miss Dresser.

TRADE
REVIEW
With these five songs besides their phenom-
enally successful production of "Three Twins," at
the Herald Square Theater, M. Witmark seems
well represented on Broadway, and it is said
their trade department is working overtime fill-
ing the orders which are commencing to pour in
from dealers throughout the country.

J. M. PRIAULX RETURNS FROM WEST.
Ditson Manager on Conditions in Chicago.
J. M. Priaulx, manager of the Chas. H. Ditson
Co., returned from Chicago on Tuesday last after
spending a week in the western metropolis. In
reply to a question on music conditions, Mr.
Priaulx expressed himself that business was look-
ing up considerably. "The establishment of Lyon
& Healy is doing remarkably well for so early
in the season," he remarked, "and everyone is
confident that things are on the mend." All of
which is cheering to a degree.
Some interesting announcements may shortly
be expected from the Most Famous Publishing
