Herbert's Tuneful and pretty opera, has opened
the season of the newly decorated green and gold
Grand Opera House in Chicago, and the same
lyrics, rollicking mirth, and unusually pretty
music delighted an audience that filled the house
to overflowing, and in every way duplicated the
success that the opera scored on Broadway. The
audience was more than generous with applause
and demanded repeated encores of all the familiar

Why don't they play them rag-time songs, them tunes
we all do know?
