It is reported that "Popularity," now at Wal-
lack's, New York, is to be made over into a mu-
sical comedy by its author, George M. Cohan,
and that he would appear in the reconstructed
play in Chicago.
Charles Frohman will present Sam Bernard
in a new musical play entitled "The Rich Mr.
Hoggenheimer" at Wallack's Theater, beginning
Monday, October 22. The book and lyrics are by
Harry B. Smith and the music by Lud.wig Eng-
lander. The play was "worked, out" at Atlantic
City, N. .1. J. W. Stern & Co. are publishers.

Last week Julius P. Witmark, of M. Witmark
& Sons, New York, who submitted to the ampu-
tation of his left leg a few weeks back, on taking
his first ride from the hospital, drove down to
the "Bee Hive" building on West 37th street,
and sent in his greetings to the "boys." It was
a wonderful display of nerve, and the entire force
was happy in knowing he was convalescing rap-
idly, and that they were the first to be remem-
bered. Everybody was pleased to greet him.
