BIG FIRE IN MONTREAL, CAN.
[Special to The Review.]
Montreal, Can., Jan. 13, 1903.
This city has been visited by a nasty fire
whereby two music stores have been badly
damaged. The fire started on the third floor
of the building at 1676 Notre Dame street,
which is occupied by Edmund Hardy, dealer
in music and musical instruments, and J. E.
Villeneuve, dealer in pianos and organs. The
damage will approximate $10,000. The
rear of the third and fourth floors of the
building were gutted, and the lower floors
drenched with water. All the stock was
either scorched or badly damaged by water.
As soon as the insurance, which is ample,
is adjusted, business will be resumed.
