tomary cheerful frame of mind when asked

ing : "Our floor in the New Amsterdam The-
atre building is finished, but it is accessible
only by balloon, as the elevator service is
not in commission yet. We could move in
to-day were there any way of reaching our
new rooms. Am expecting a van to back
up here any minute to dispossess us, and the
holders of this lease are after us with a club
to get us out. I expect to be on Forty-second
street by the end of the week."
