THE MUSIC TRADE REVIEW
clusively that the Weiss line has become a
leader in fine goods. Many favorable com-
ments were made on Mr. Weiss's enterprise
and skill in devising such a variety of at-
tractive styles.
"During my stay at Chicago I visited the
Lyon & Healy factory, and was much sur-
prised with what I saw. .They have an im-
mense establishment. I have seen some big
places in my time, but I do not hesitate to say
that I really believe they have at Chicago the
greatest and most complete musical instru-
ment factory in the world. I saw almost
everything musical in process of manufac-
ture, from a drumstick to a church organ.
"My general business this year has
doubled itself. The call for Weiss products
has been simply phenomenal. When away,
I took opportunity to point out the merits
of Oscar Schmidt's new American Mando-
lin Harp, and was successful in securing
orders for it. This is a practical proof that
the instrument is in good demand.
"My efforts from now on will be in the di-
rection of ensuring for those whose orders
I received a prompt delivery of their goods."

Chambers' Plans.
W. Paris Chambers, the well-known solo
cornetist and representative of C. G. Conn's
interests in this city, left for Buffalo on
Monday where he will make a month's so-
journ with the 71st Regiment Band at the
Pan-American Exposition, The latter part
of July Mr. Chambers will probably make
a trip to London and Paris, where he will
introduce the "Conn-queror" cornet to the
prominent bandsmen of these cities, furnish-
ing them with an idea of the tremendous
progress which has been made on this side
of the water in the production of band in-
struments—at least such superb cornets as
C. G. Conn manufactures in Elkhart, Ind.
Mr. Conn, who, as recently announced
in The Review, will spend the summer in
the East cruising in his new steam yacht,
will make Mr. Chambers' office at 34 East
Fourteenth street his headquarters, looking
after his interests incidentally while Mr.
Chambers is in Buffalo and in Europe.
