THE MUSIC TRADE REVIEW
Demand for Gabler Pianos.
GOETZ & CO. OBLIGED TO DOUBLE STORE
SPACE TO ACCOMMODATE THE TRADE.
Improved machinery and enlarged plants
have in recent years enabled piano manu-
facturers to greatly increase the produc-
tion of these popular instruments and at a
figure much below that of former days,
says the Brooklyn Eagle. Thus it is that
this favorite instrument is found nowa-
days in so large a percentage of the homes
throughout the land, and the rising gen-
eration, through pianoforte instruction,
is given an opportunity for acquiring a
finishing touch to its education that
was practically within the reach of the
wealthy alone a few years ago. Goetz
& Co., 81 and 83 Court street, have re-
cently given a practical demonstration of
this growing popularity and increasing de-
mand for the piano, by being obliged to
double the size of their warerooms and add
the adjoining buildings, 85 and 87 Court
street to their establishment. Goetz &
Co. are the sole agents for the Gabler piano,
an instrument that has received the un-
qualified approval of many musicians for
its excellence and is every year advancing
in popularity. This firm has been in the
piano business in Brooklyn for nearly forty
years and has won for itself the esteem of
its business associates and patrons by
reason of its adherence to rules adopted
early in its career, namely, constant atten-
tion to the wants of customers, careful se-
lection of goods and fair dealing. Thou-
sands of leases not alone to residents of
this borough, but also to others from Man-
hattan, throughout Long Island and in
New Jersey, testify to the popularity of
the Gabler piano.

The American Felt Mfg. Co. hold their
annual meeting on Jan. 31st. The past
year has been an unusually prosperous
one with them, and the report, doubtless,
will be a cheering one.
C. W. Schlegel has joined in partnership
with H. F. Carson, the well-known dealer
of Davenport, la., and the concern will
hereafter be known as Carson & Schlegel.
Mr. Carson was a member of the firm of
Reed & Carson, and we recently recorded
his purchase of Mr. Reed's interest.
The Beedle Co., of Keene, who have
had a music store in the Cray block on
Westminster street for some months, are
discussing closing it and taking their stock
to Keene, although this is not as yet fully
decided upon, says the Brattleboro, Vt.
Phoenix.
