The health of Paul G. Mehlin, the hon-
ored head of Paul G. Mehlin & Sons, has
been much benefitted by his recent short
vacation in the upper part of New York
State. Mr. Mehlin took his gun along,
but owing to the mildness of the winter he
was not as successful as he would have
wished in the hunting field.

The Graphophone Advance.
The demand for talking machines is con-
stantly increasing. This the makers say,
is due to the great improvement in the
machines themselves as well as the lower-
ing of prices. The receipts, sales, and
profits of the American Graphophone Com-
pany during the month of December just
passed were by far the greatest in the his-
tory of the company.
C. G. Conn, of the C. G. Conn Co., left
the closing days of last week on a visit to
the Conn factory at Elkhart, Ind.
He
will return in a couple of weeks.
Rettberg & Lange, whose specialties in
banjos, drums and tambourines have met
with such encouraging success during 1899,
are preparing for a big new year's trade.
