THE MUSIC TRADE REVIEW
A Popular 'Phone.
Objects to Kipling's Hymn.
The right of the music department to
place Kipling's "Recessional" in the public
schools of Chicago is questioned by Super-
intendent Andrews. His objection to the
hymn is that it is theistic, and thus could
be the basis of a valid objection from tax-
payers who are atheists and have children
in the public schools.
All 'phones are not popular. Frequently
one gets out of temper in using them.
There is one, however, that causes univer-
sal good nature, and that is the piano-
phone. The pianophone continues to grow
in popularity. The factory is rushed with
orders, and if things keep up this way

Sol. Grollman's Success.
Business with Sol. Grollman, the stool
and scarf man of Chicago, is growing
every day. The condition of trade is such
that he and his assistants are compelled to
work nightly in order to fill promptly the
orders which are reaching him.
Mr. Grollman has built up his business
by selling the best goods at right prices,
giving immediate attention to all orders'
placed with him, and making every cus-
tomer a friend. He sends scarfs on selec-
tion to all parts of the United States, and
is prepared to meet the trade more than
half way in this connection.
That Mr. Grollman's business will ex-
pand still further is to be expected. He
is liked by the members of the piano trade
and in return he treats them squarely.

The Wonder Self-Composer
(PATENT APPLIED FOR)
Not a toy, but a remarkable invention by which any
person can write hundreds of different marches (two-
step) for piano or organ without previous knowledge
of musical composition. Read what great composers
sav about it:
JOHN PHILIP SOUSA :
FRED N. INNES:
" I t is an unique and marvelous in-
vention."
ALESSANDRO LIBERATI:
'' The most clever musical device I
