ANGELIS ORCHESTRAL.
< Played like the Symphony.)
A new and wonderful invention that instantly converts any piano
into a self-playing instrument. In every house where there is a
piano the ANGELUS ORCHESTRAL is needed. It is
The Master-key that unlocks
the gates of Melody for all!
No musical talent on the part of the
performer is required. A child that
has never before seen a piano can, with
the aid of the ANGELUS ORCHKS-
TliAL, render the most difficult com-
>ositions in a manner possible to only
po:
he most accomplished and practised
th(
of pianists. Contains (in addition to
the piano-playing mechanism) two full
sets of organ reeds, which may bo
played separately or ia company with
the piano.

Combined Guitar and Mandolin. John
Englund, Minneapolis, Minn. Patent No.
616,908.
This invention relates to stringed instru-
ments, and has for its primary object to
provide a combined guitar and mandolin
of improved construction and having bet-
ter tone qualities than previous instru-
ments of this general character.
Mandolin. Frank Isbell, New York, N.
Y. Patent No. 617,250.
This invention is an improvement in the
manufacture of mandolins and similar
stringed instruments, and relates more
especially to the sounding-board and par-
ticular manner of ornamenting the same.
Heretofore it has been customary in the
manufacture of mandolins and similar in-
struments to make the sounding-board
entirely of wood and ornament the edges,
including the sound-hole, by striping or
painting the wood and covering the same
with a varnish, and by veneers let into the
sounding-board near the edges thereof.
This manner of ornamenting the sound-
ing-board is objectionable in that it is not
permanent, being susceptible to wear, and
noting this objection the inventor has im-
proved the sounding-board by providing
the edges of the same with composite
strips of paper of different colors, which
are cemented together and to the edges of
the sounding-board, presenting the mar-
ginal lines or ornamental edgings.
Kohler & Co. will hereafter be the title
of the business heretofore known as the
New York Piano Mfg. Co. The office and
factory is at 609-1 r West Thirty-sixth
street.
