Dr. Young is one of the best experts in
organs in the country. Going to the trade
as a lad, under the celebrated Henry Erben
of New York, he quit the business as an
expert for Roosevelt of New York. He
has studied methods of organ-building in
Europe, and has had a thorough training
in scientific acoustics. For some time Dr.
Young was laboratory assistant in acous-
tics for Prof. Joseph Henry in Washington.
Dr. Young owns several valuable pat-
ents in organs, and is up-to-date in his
musical knowledge and mechanical ability.
The Kopps Music Co., of Grand Forks,

ESTABLISHED 1850
Dr. W. H. Young, pastor of the Athens,
Ga., Baptist Church, is a unique combina-
tion of organist, preacher and organ build-
er. He is noted throughout the South for
his thoroughness as a musician and espe-
cially for his unexampled work of skill and
generosity. He has presented his church
at Athens with the largest organ in the
state, one worth at least $6,000. This fine
instrument was not only made with his
own hands, but he has earned the large
sum needed to purchase the materials,
which extra feat he has accomplished by
repairing organs and doing other expert
work, and yet has not neglected the work
of his large pastorate.
