THE MUSIC TRADE REVIEW
Plate Points.
Artistic Excellence
An industry succeeds by identifying itself with
the needs and best interests of its constituency. One
of the strongest points in the success of the
Davenport & Treacy
.The Standard towards which others are striving;
business lies in the fact that in the casting of piano
plates and other piano hardware, all the demands
made upon the pianoforte have been carefully con-
sidered, and the " D. & T . " plates do not break.

ALUMINUM MUSICAL INST. CO,, Mt. Yernon, N. Y.
Police of New York, Brooklyn, Newark,
Jersey City and Trenton have been asked
to look out for a shrewd swindler who re-
presented himself as being connected with
the German Catholic Church of New
Brunswick. The fellow gave his name as
Joseph Miller, and first made his appear-
ance at the warerooms of the Shoninger
Piano Company, in Jersey City. He inform-
ed the firm that he wished to purchase a
piano for the church at New Brunswick,
and asked that a representative be sent out
to meet the committee.
Other firms called upon by Miller were
the Wissner Piano Co., of Newark; several
large piano firms of New York and Brook-
lyn, and one at Trenton. He invariably
represented that he had lost his pocketbook
and asked for a loan of two dollars to pay
his carfare home. This amount was given
to him by the Shoninger Piano Co., but in
other places it was refused.
Representatives of the various piano
companies called to see the Rev. Joseph
Keuper, the rector of the church, at New
Brunswick. He told the piano agents that
the man was an imposter, and the New
Brunswick police were requested to notify
the police of the cities in which he had at-
tempted to operate to be on the watch for
him.
The new warerooms opened up by
Heintzman & Co., at Nos. 115-7 King
street, Toronto, Ont., which are under the
management of J. C. Bloomer, are being
generously praised in the local papers.
In the last few days there has been an
enormous run on Knabe and Behning
pianos at the great Flanner music house,
215 Grand Avenue, says the Milwaukee
Sentinel of March 20.
