THE
Joining the Haines Forces.
The enterprising policy of Haines Bros,
is bearing good fruit. Letters and orders
for the new style 17, represented on the
front page of The Review cover in the is-
sue of September 11, are arriving by al-
most every mail. It is evident that pro-
gressive dealers do desire to push the
wheels of progress and prosperity along.
They are joining the Haines forces, and
this is the best possible proof that they be-
lieve the new Haines styles to be money
and trade makers. The suggestion given
to wide-awake dealers to "make a note to
write for catalogue, prices, and territory"
has been followed, as results show already.
As Thos. Floyd-Jones said recently, "Our
new style 17 will be the hit of the season."
MUSIC TRADE REVIEW
The Prescott Co.
All-Aluminum Instruments.
The Prescott Company, Concord, N. H.,
is the style of a new firm just formed to
deal in sheet music, music books and small
goods, with location at 92 North Main
street. This firm is wholly distinct and
separate from the Prescott Piano Co.,
though closely allied to it, and is intended
to promote their retail work. The busi-
ness is under the management of Martin
Greenwald, a well-known pianist and a
graduate of the Leipzig Conservatory of
Music.
The success of the Hutchins Manufactur-
ing Co., of Springfield, Mass., in manufac-
turing musical instruments, notably man-
dolins, of all aluminum, has induced French
manufacturers to experiment also success-
fully along the same lines. They report
that the tone of stringed instruments made
of aluminum, especially in the higher
notes, is much richer and more resonant
than that emitted by wood.
