THE MUSIC TRADE REVIEW
2O
"TTTE respectfully call the attention of our agents
and the music-loving public in general to
the fact that certain parties are manufacturing,
and have placed upon the market, a cheap piano,
bearing a name so similar to our own (with a slight
difference in spelling) that the purchaser may be led
to believe that he is purchasing a genuine " SOHMER
PIANO."
PIANOS
We deem it our duty to those who have been
favorably impressed with the fine quality and high
reputation of the "SOHMER PIANO," to warn them
against the possibility of an imposition by unscru-
pulous dealers or agents.
Every genuine " SOHMER PIANO " has the follow-
ing trade mark stamped upon the sounding-board : |

HE "Hon." Daniel F.Beatty,who adver-
tises himself as the "great organ and
piano manufacturer," Washington, N. J.,is,
we notice, again advertising extensively in
the country papers of this State and also
Pennsylvania.
Daniel has been exposed so often that
it seems extraordinary to find the news-
papers and purchasing public taking him
seriously. In a Pennsylvania paper just to
hand we notice an elaborate eulogy of the
"Hon." Daniel in which it is stated that his
instruments "are very popular, and are to
be found in all parts of the world." Further
we are informed "that during the next ten
years he intends to sell 200,000 more of his
make; that means a business of $20,000,000,
if we average them at $100 each. It is al-
ready the largest business of the kind in
existence." Whew!
Music dealers who desire to keep
pace with the times and to make
money should carry a line of
