be in demand by all who appreciate a
highly meritorious song.
5. Mr. Coverly has set W. H. Gardiner's
appropriate verse to melodious and sym-
pathetic music. This religious ballad is
published for mezzo soprano or tenor in D,
and for alto or baritone in D flat. The
scoring is most effective.
6. A sweet and touching ballad by the
author of that old-time favorite, "Chiming
Bells of Long Ago." It is written in G
and well arranged. The indefatigable Geo.
Cooper furnishes the verse.
7. Amateurish. Will pass muster with
the so-called popular songs of the day.
8. 9, 10. Three songs that may possibly
appeal to the popular taste. 8 and 9 are in
waltz tempo, and 10 is an Ethiopian classic.
Miss Rafferty's song deserves special
commendation.

2. Mr. Hoist's march is fully up to the
standard of the numerous compositions
which have made him a favorite with per-
formers on the piano. This composition
was written evidently to become a favorite.

and pretty.
