HE Chase Bros. Piano Co., Muskegon,
Mich., have received a very flattering
letter from I. M. Weston, president of the
Michigan World's Fair Board, in which he
refers to the three Chase Bros, pianos, se-
lected for use in the Michigan State Build-
ing during the Fair. He said: "They were
put in before the wall plastering was dry,
and were subjected to constant and hard
usage for six months, yet gave the most
perfect satisfaction. . . They were used by
some of the best musicians of the North-
west, who united in praise of their musical
and mechanical qualities. Asa citizen of
Michigan I am proud of the success you
have attained in perfecting and producing
a class of instrument, the equal of any made
in this country."
H. WASHBURN, Boston representa-
tive of the Dyer & Hughes pianos, made
in Foxcroft, Me., was in town the closing
days of last week. Mr. Washburn reports
an excellent demand for the Dyer & Hughes
instruments, and is quite optimistic about
the business outlook.
F. A. WINTKR, the well-known Chicker-
ing and Kranich & Bach representative in
Altoona, Pa., gave an interesting concert
last week which was largely attended.

DECKER & SON are experiencing a very
satisfactory demand for their instruments.

PETKK DUFFY, president of the Schubert
Piano Co., will visit Europe this summer;
probably the latter part of June. He will
be accompanied by Mrs. Duffy.
THE Indicator says that a scheme is now
being rapidly discussed by several gentle-
men directly interested in the manufacture
of pianos in Chicago, to open grand union
warerooms in this city, where shall be
placed on sale and exhibition only pianos
made in Chicago.

OTTO WISSNER has been suffering with a
sprained leg all week.
THE schedules of George Hagemeyer &
Sons, dealers in hard woods, at the foot of
East Tenth and Eleventh streets, were
filed recently, showing total liabilities,
$446,929, of which $191,668 are actual, and
$255,261 contingent; nominal assets, $245,-
005; actual assets, $149,813.
