R. M. Stults.
1. Another charming composition from this
prolific writer's pen, which can be highly re-
commended. As a parlor or teaching piece it
will find favor.
2. An amateurish conceit hardly worth notice.
3. A good set of waltzes effectively yet simply
arranged from a popular composer.
4. Mr. O'Neill favors us with a Reverie that
proves him to be a musician from whom we may
expect to hear later. It is a composition that
displays elements of originality in treatment,
and although somewhat difficult, it cannot fail
to become popular.
5. An inspiriting march, full of the martial
spirit. It is arranged with skill, and is decided-
ly above the average.
6. 7, 8. Three good marches. Nos. 6 and 8
are characterized prize marches, having been
selected out of quite a number by a committee
of musicians. They are not too difficult for
amateurs.
9. Mr. Stults has again displayed his ability
as a composer of dance music. His polka is a
dainty and pleasing composition.

1. A pretty and expressive song for soprano
or tenor. The words are in English and Ger-
man text.
2. A spinning wheel love song, which re-
ceives clever musical treatment. It is a ballad
that will find favor in parlor and concert. The
verse is by W. H. Gardner.
3. A pleasing trifle for soprano or tenor by a
well known musician.
4. An English song of the popular order with
catchy waltz refrain.
5. A tuneful lullaby song dedicated to the
latest arrival in the White House. The verse is
by the composer. Key of C.

It is admitted by all thai no piano ever put upon the
market has met with such success as THE STERLING
and thousands will testify to their superiority of work-
manship and durability. Why ? Because they are made
just as perfect as a piano can be made.
THE STERLING ORGAN has always taken the lead, and
the improvements made this year puts it far ahead oi
all others. J®" Send for Catalogue.

6. An English music hall "terror," which
we would like to see confined to the other side.
7. A good motto song with waltz refrain,
which has words and music to commend it.
8. An Irish comic of the popular order.
9. One of Ransom's Ethiopian sketches. As
an end song it will become popular.
10. A waltz song with a pretty melody, wed-
ded to words full of homely sentiment.
11. A motto song that is up to the average.
Words are by the composer.
We have also on our desk quite a number of
part songs by Adam Geibel which are of un-
usual excellence. They can be highly recom-
mended to glee clubs and societies.
HAMILTON S. GORDON, NEW YORK.
1. Silvery Fountain Spray, Fantasia-
Hans T. Seifert.
2. Scarf Dance.
Cecily Chaniinadi.
3. Youth's Frolic, Rondo. Hans. T. Seifert.
4. Fifth Avenue Hall, Gavotte. Max Zeryazy.
5. The Frog's Moonlight Serenade.
J. Jay Watson.
1. A very interesting study. Mr. Seifert dis-
plays originality and effectiveness in the treat-
ment of the theme, and the piece in its entirety
is a creditable composition which will undoubt-
edly win popularity.
2. This is a "scene de ballet" which has
been carefully revised and fingered by Mr. H. T.
Seifert. It is a musical gem which will find
favor with teachers.
3. Another of Mr. Seifert's many compositions
which can be highly recommended.
4. This is a simple but exceedingly effective
gavotte that will meet with a welcome from the
home musician. It is dedicated to Director
Parma of the German Conservatory of Music.
5. Rather a quaint descriptive serenade and
"good time " of the progenitors of the human
species. The well known '' Frolic of the Frogs ''
waltz is introduced, and all in all friend Watson
gives us an odd and somewhat original compo-
sition.
1. Write to Mother Often. W. Reginald Carr.
2. 0, Could I Bring Back the Past,
Richard H. Barker.
3. My Yesterday.
Harrison Millard.
4. On the Ball Room Floor.
John L. Hughes.
5. Maude's Secret.
Master Willie G. King.
1. A song and chorus with pleasing melody
and good healthy verse.
2. Decidedly above the average of its kind.
Mr. Barker is always in evidence with good
music, and Mr. Ford is attaining quite a reputa-
tion for his refined and sympathetic verse.
3 It is always a pleasure to come across a
high class ballad such as this. Mr. Millard is
one of our greatest writers, and this contribution
adds to his reputation. It is in F, accompani-
ment is not over difficult, and it should prove
an effective number for home or concert. The
words are by Ella Wheeler Wilcox.
4. A pleasing composition of the popular
order.
5. This is somewhat of a curiosity as an illus-
tration of the musical precociousness of Master
Willie King, who, at his sixth year, gives us a
charming melody, set to very pretty words by I.
M. King. With such talent as is evidenced in
this pretty song, we can look to Master King as
one of our coming prodigies.
We are in receipt of some excellent composi-
tions from the house of J. C. Groene & Co., Cin-
cinnati, which will receive notice later.
