Miss Emma Juch will be the soloist on this
occasion.
The concert given by Mr. Chas. E. Lepaige,
in the Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church,
Tuesday evening, October 25th, was a pronounced
success. Mr. Lepaige played Listz's " Rhap-
sodie Hongroise, No. 12," in a masterly man-
ner, and the assisting artists were excellent in
their selections.

|ONROE COUNTY. Ga., can boast of a
wonderful child, says an exchange.
It has a little girl, only six years old, who is
a musical prodigy. She can play on the piano
any piece she ever heard and fancied. Her
hands are not larger than a child's of four years.
She is too small to get on the piano stool, yet
she plays well and with ease, and just as well
when blindfolded.
She is a daughter of W. H. Thurman, and,
strange to say, she is the twentieth child with-
out a funeral in the family, except that of his
wife.
He is the inventor of the famous Thurman car
coupler.
The little girl is named Vivian, is a pretty
child, and can play almost a whole day, always
a different tune.
THE Staib Piano-action Co. are pushed for
room in which to handle the large number of
orders that are received ; they intend to increase
their facilities, so as to be able to turn out the
orders as rapidly as they are received.
THE Baus Piano Co. are doing a good busi-
ness, and orders for their instruments are on the
increase.
JAMES & HOLMSTROM'S piano, with the
transposing key-board, is meeting with marked
favor among musicians. It is a grand invention,
and one may now transpose from the original
key to any other, by merely shifting the key-
board to the right for the higher key, or to the
left for a lower key. The mechanism is so sim-
ple that a child may operate it.
A NUMBER of musical instruments, with many
other articles, were stolen from the store of Tay-
lor Bros., October 13th, at Maine, N. Y.
"(;rou/r;."
From mountain tops to craniums,
From cabbages to kings,
The " Crown " commands the highest notch
That is attained by things.
From Jews-harp unto organ grand,
Pianos down to drums,
Music stirs both soul and feet,
No matter whence it comes.
So, when the chords are rich and true,
When volume, swell and tone,
Combine to charm, the Crown is reached,
And music sits the throne.
To charmed home or sacred hall,
Good music brings renown ;
Go seek for it from topmost source,
Which is, of course, the " Crown."
An Innovation in Piano Actions.
A PERFECT GRAND ACTION FOR THE UPRIGHT PIANO.
It is more sympathetic, more elastic repeats more instantaneously and faster
in the Upright piano than in the old style Grand.
To prove all of the above broad claims, we invite you to a critical examination of the
action, in working order, in a number of Pianos to be exhibited at the Parlors of the
HOTEL KENSINGTON, 5th Ave. and 15th St., N. Y., from Oct. 17th to 29th, inclusive.

* Moderate
L/iicxaiii|jfcJ Success
is the result of many
years' careful study
and experiment, working to one certain end—
namely, the production, at a MODERATE PRICE, of
an INSTRUMENT which in
....
SWEETNESS AND VOLUME OF TONE,
ENDURANCE OF TONE UNDER HARD USAGE
AND CAPACITY FOR STANDING IN TUNE
is equal to the Pianos of any makers, not excepting those
which are sold at the highest prices.
The WISSNER UPRIGHT PIANO is not a mere com-
modity, but a MUSICAL INSTRUMENT, with a sensitiveness
which responds to the requirements of the most exacting
artist.
