0. H. R. MiLiiEii gave a very fine piano recital at
Taylor's music store, Springiield, Mass., on Saturday
evening, May 2lst. He used all the different makes
of pianos which seemed to please the audience very
much. There were about three hundred people pres-
ent and they went away well satisfied with the enter-
tainment. Mr. Taylor will have a number of recitals
at his rooms during the summer.
THE new special style upright of Newby & Evans
is certainly a handsome instrument and well deserv-
ing of the successful run it is having. Messrs. Newby
& Evans are having a large trade which taxes their
factory to its utmost.
CABLE & SONS, New York, have just completed a
new scale piano which they intend to push with vigor.
They have already sold quite a number of this new
style, all of which give good satisfaction. The firm
have takeu into partnership a gentleman of unexcep-
tional business qualifications and they propose to
push their wholesale trade more than ever before.
W. W. BACHELDER, JR., of Oliver Green, Boston,
was in the city last week selecting goods. He gave

Kochman, with Behning & Son, who sails on June
1st, with his wife, and George Bothner, the well-
known action manufacturer, who will go over in
about two weeks. - Music and Drama.
ONE of the oldest representative business houses
of Junction City, Kan., is the music house of S. W.
Pierce & Co., established in 1871. Their business is
not confined to local trade, but their travelling sales-
men reach every hamlet in the State. They do an ex-
tensive jobbing business in pianos, organs and musi-
cal merchandise, and their mail order trade in band
and orchestra music and supplies covers the entire
State and extends in Colorado, Nebraska and adjoin-
ing states. They have an extensive acquaintance over
the State and consider this the most desirable loca-
tion for their business on account of the superior
railroad facilities.
KNABE DAY at Taylor's music store, in Springfield,
Mass , on June 1st was a grand success. Prof. E. B.
Perry, the blind pianist of Boston, furnished the en-
tertainment in two fine programmes, including selec-
tions from Chopin, Schumann, Schubert-Liszt, Dew-
ey, Rubenetein, Jensen, Liszt and compositions of his
own. The Knabe grand piano was used and proved
fully equal to every shade of tone and power which
the artist desired to produce.
