all her friends who see it. It is a remarkably fine instrument in quality of
tone, finish and touch, and everything that goes tn make it a truly first-
class piano, and further, tbat it gives entire satisfaction in every respect.

THE WILCOX & WHITE ORGAN CO., Meriden, Conn.,
are happy over the condition of their business. Mr.
Hemingway, who does the traveling, recently con-
tracted with a Western dealer for 70 six octave or-
gans to be shipped at once.

WB had a very pleasant call last week from W. T.
Crane, Pottsville, Pa. Mr. Crane informed us that
he had just secured the agency of the Steck piano
and seemed to be much elated at his success in ob-
taining it. He now has, besides the Steck, the Chlck-
ering and Crane pianos, the latter instrument being
made expressly for him, In organs he sells the
Smith American. Any one purchasing an instrument
from Mr. Crane is sure to get full value for the money
invested, as all the instruments mentioned are first
class.

and building are a total loss, amounting to $10,000.
The building, which was owned by Geo. F. Colburn,
was partially insured.
WE warn the piano and organ trade against having
any dealings whatever with W. F. Watts & Co., Ma-
chias, N. Y. They have recently bought goods from
several parties in the trade, giving notes or checks
which, when presented for payment, were found to be
•worthless.
THE Whitney & Holmes Organ Co., Quincey, 111.,
are getting out an entire series of new styles of or-
gans, all of which are very handsome. The improve-
ments this firm introduce during 1887 will prove very
interesting to the musical people, and be appreciated
by the trade. This company have always made the
best work possible, and their organs stand away up
in tone and other desirable points; but the instru-
ments they will turn out this year, it is claimed, will
surpass all former efforts.
WE are in receipt of the "Unparalleled Offer to

Washington, N. G. It is just about on a par with the
notorious Beatty offers.

quarters, sind contemplate taking a larger factory very

succeKg. It is certainly a very important invention
and th« only one of the kind of value.
ON Thursday last Mr. J. Burns Brown, of Fifth
avenue, sold five C. D. Pease pianos. It is not tube
wondered at that Mr. Pease complains of his ina-
bility to turn out enough instruments to fulfill the
demand for them..
THE new style organ of Story & Clark, entitled the
" Modern Ideal," is a perfect beauty.
IN answer to an inquiry, we will state that Guern-

form us that their business, during the past 12 months,
showd a gain of 37 per cent, over last year's, which is
the largest one year's business they have had for the

KUAKAUER BROS., N. Y., are having a constantly
increasing trade. As evidence of this fact it is only
necessary to state that the firm have recently leased
the brick building on ±Oth street, in addition to their
present one. This new building will be principally
used for case making. The firm now have facilities
for turning out twenty or twenty-five piaflos per
week.
WE are pleased to state that Mr. A. H. Whitney, of
the Whitney & Holmes Organ Co., Qulncy, 111., is
rapidly recovering from his severe illness.
VOSE & SONS, Boston, Mass., have finished decor-
ating their new warerooms on Tremont street, and
have now as handsome warerooms as any firm in the
country. The wholesale trade of this house has
reached such proportions that it is almost impossi-
ble to meet the demands of the dealers.
THE factories of the Loring & Blake Organ Co.,
Worcester, Mass., and Boardman & Gray, Albany,
N. Y., and the warerooms of Whitney & Currier, To-
ledo, Ohio, were closed on the day of the funeral of
Mrs. W. W. Currier. We extend to Mr. Currier our
sympathy in his sad bereavment.
THE Hallet & Davis Co., Boston, are enjoying a
good trade. Their pianos are becoming more popu-
lar every day, and their grands are becoming favor-
ites in concert halls.
