GEO. L. WALKER & SON, of Philadelphia, are doing
a very large business in pianos and organs. They
advertise very extensively, and having been estab-
lished for twenty-six years, they are well known
throughout Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey
as reliable dealers.

THE Knabe concert grand piano, used at the Mozart
Association concerts in Richmond, Va., is from the
piano and organ warerooms of Manly B. Moses &
€0. Messrs. Ramos & Co. are lively dealers, and
fast becoming popularly known all over Virginia.
They are, however, to be congratulated upon receiv-
ing the patronage of such an able association as the
" Mozart," and Messrs. Knabe & Co. ought to feel
proud that their piano has been selected.

J. B. WOODFOBD, of the Loring & Blake Organ Co.,
Worcester, Mass., was in the city a few days ago in
Company with W. W. Currier, of Toledo, Ohio.
MARCELLINO & MERNIN, Albuquerque, N. M., will
soon close out their business.

attached.
J. B. BROWN, New York City, renewed chattel
mortgage for $8,000.
WE noticed in the warerooms of Mathushek &
Sons, New York, an upright piano which was made
by Mr. Clark, of the late Nunns it Clark, over sixty
years ago. This same piano contains many of the
so-called recent improvements in some of our late
pianos.
EDWARD RITTENHOUSE, Lambertsville, N. J., has
given a chattel mortgage for $2,163.
G. P. GUILFORD, manager of Hallet & Davis' retail
warerooms in Boston, is on a long trip through the
South.
Since the retirement of Mr. Kinkeldey from the
firm of Mathushek & Kinkeldey, New York, and the
change of the firm to Mathushek & Son, the business
has been wonderfully progressive. We, only a few
days ago, called at the factory in 12!)th street, and
V. Walters, Alton, 111 , has opened a music store in
Omaha, Neb.

GREENEK has taken a sudden and awful tumbl<\

wish Greener and his lawyer, Morrison, a long fare-
well, trusting that they will forever retire from any
connection whatever with the piano trade, thus
enabling us to purify the atmosphere which they have
so polluted by their culpable methods.

was somewhat surprised to note the remarkable
activity in the different departments. We noticed
that there were all kinds of pianos in process of con-
struction, but none finished ; this we found, upon in-
quiry, to be due to the number of orders which the
firm have ahead, and that as fast as the instruments
are completed they are shipped.
This firm is now well fixed, financially, having all
the capital necessary to carry on an extensive busi-
ness, and they are now greatly adding to their man-
facturing facilities, in order to largely increase their
production. Mr. Frederick Mathushek is actively
connected with the new concern, and will no doubt
soon add some valuable additions to the already
excellent piano they manufacture.

P H I L I P HEINSBERGER, Wilmington, N. C , and the
oldest dealer in that state, has made an assignment
to N-. Jacobi. Assets, $12,000; liabilities, *20,000,
with about $6,000 preferred. This is a great surprise
to us, as we always considered Mr. Heinsberger solid,
financially.
MR. HAMMOND once made the remark that If the
Mechanical Orguinette Company wanted their patents,
they would have to go to Worcester for them. We
understand that they are now on the way there.
EDWARD MCCAMMON, Albany, N. Y., has opened
handsome warerooms on the corner of North Pearl
and Steuben streets. Ned doesn't intend to be be-
hind the times.
WE hear that Abbott, who is Mr. Hammond's
" faithful employe" has taken up his former place of
residence in Canada, the home of all the good bank
presidents.
LAWRENCE
BROS.,
Easton Pa., organ manufac-
turers, are doing an excellent business. Their latest
styles are very handsome, the cases being made of
black walnut, or if preferred, with a rosewood finish.
These organs are different than others in two re-
spects, as they contain no stops or carpeted pedals.

IN our last issue we stated in the special advertise-
ment of James M. Starr & Co., Richmond, that they
were the successors of Chase Bros. Piano Co. This
is a serious mistake, as they are successors of the
old Chase Piano Co., of Richmond, Ind. The Chase
Bros. Piano Co. are located in Grand Rapids, Mich.,
where they are doing a very flourishing and profitable
business, and, consequently, are not likely to be
succeeded by any one.

GEO. L. WALKER & SON, Philadelphia, Pa., have
taken the agency of the Hillstrom Organ. They in-
form us that they find it an easy selling instrument,
and will no doubt sell a large number of them. Geo.
L. Walker & Son are a very enterprising firm, and
when they take hold of an instrument with the deter-
mination to push it, it means a great deal.

indication of an excellent trade the coming year.
