CHICAGO - With the exception of the War II yea.rs, '42,'43,'44 and '45, there have been
47 conventions of this industry, beginning in 1925 and including the present 1975 con-
vention at the Hilton Hotel, this city. Every convention, with the exception of two,
have been held in this city. Those two a.re: 1929 when the convention was held at the
Winton Hotel in Cleveland,O., and 1930 when the convention was at the New Yorker Hotel
in New York City. (Bill Gersh, publisher of "Marketplace", has the distinction of having
attended a.11 47 conventions.)

PHOENIX,ARIZ. - Mirco Systems,Inc., this city, announced the appoint-
ment of John W. Day as manager, publications. In this newly created
post, Day will have the responsibility for the preparation, printing
and distribution of all Mirco technical publications. In addition,
he will be responsible for advertising, sales promotion and publicity
programs directed to the electronics industry. Prior to joining Mirco
Systems, Day was self-employed as a. copywriter and sales promotion
consultant to industrial and commercial firms in both the Phoenix and
Boston a.rea.s.
