The avowed object of the legisla-
tion Is to prevent the use ot
gambling devices while allowing
machine., providing amusement.
The statutory test as to what Is
a gambling device In a coin·
operated machine ts whether there
is any element of chance In the
playing of tho game. Initially, It
should be remembered that play on
these de\·lcc., Is not In tho nature
ot a conte:1t, where the player
competes against an opponent.
Where a mr.chlne Is so designed,
l\S where tho player receives a
reward contingent on hi:i making
a cc1·taln score, In the form of a
prize of l\ny descrlptlon.-even to
the extent ot getting permission
to play the game again without

scribed as a contest between the
player and the machine owner:

FOOSBALL CLASSES OFFERED IN HIGH SCHOOL
That's right. Star Amusement Co, Austin,Minn., participated in a 2-day mini course pro-
gram set up in the town's Pacelli High School.
Three foosball classes were offered to the students, freshman thru senior class, and had
one of the biggest enrollments of all classes offered with over 60 students participating.
The wide range of classes, set up by the Pacelli Student Council with participants from
the Pacelli faculty and area residents, were held on Thursday and Friday, April 26 and 26,
for the second year. This was the first time foosball was offered.
Rod Clennon and Duane Balcken of Star Amusement Co., were the instructors for the course.
All equipnent was furnished by Star Amusement. The open mindedness for such a project was
furnished by the Pacelli High School Administration.
