When you write, "14 Years", and then look at the 2 numerals and the 5 letters com-
prising these two words, this doesn't seem like such a much, as the saying goes. But
thinking back "14 Yea.rs", thinking back to every day of those "14 Yea.rs" and, in many
instances, to every hour of certain crucial days, then does the full impact hit home
of just how long "14 Years" can be to someone who has been with this industry for the
past 49 years of his life.
During these "14 Years" what has been accomplished to benefit the readers and sub-
scribers of "Market, pla.ce"? A new kind of "confidential newsletter" that not only ma.de
news but also made history. Possibly, it's biggest achievement, the origination and
successful campaigning for "2-Bits Play". It's "Pictorial History" editions to revive
the yea.rs gone by. It's "2000 Club" to foster greater friendship worldwide.
The many, many predictions made here in "Marketplace" that ca.me true. Its education-
al economics that awakened all to the facts existant year after year. Its close cover-
age of the people who comprise the industry. Its wide range of news reports that had
so much meaning for all concerned. Its "Interim News Report" that has won so much ad-
miration and commendation.
So much, much more contained in those 2 numerals and 5 alphabetical letters, "14
Yea.rs". So much outstanding endeavor, so much public relations, so many, many new
ideas, such great campaigns that have turned a.bout this industry's pricing, articles
that have stimulated and heartened, brought about courageous achievement to so many all
over the world. Even more, the inspiration to youth, the sound and logical development,
the creation of better ideas and purposes. The gathering together of material to bring
into being "A History of the Coin Machine Industry". And still more, every hour of every
day during those "14 Years".
There they stand, like beacons of knowledgeable light, the 11 14 Years" of a new era
in the industry. And so very much yet to come. So many programs yet to complete. So
much to do to deserve the high accolade of praise bestowed upon this publication,
"Marketplace". Time is flying by. Come - let's go to work - tomorrow is almost here.
