Most thrilling to one and all thruout the industry is the sudden influx of sons who
are, in many instances, taking over for their fathers. Not only operators' sons, but
sons of distributors and manufacturers as well. And so very many of these sons are uni-
versity graduates. Bringing to this industry a new and better approach. A new major
effort. A new kind of prestigious business action along with greater respect and better
understanding from the general public and its elected officials.

..
These young men seek and want a better approach to create a more solid base for op-
erating, distributing and manufacturing endeavors . It is these young men who have fur-
thered prestige pricing for all equipment. Who realize the necessity for a "service
charge". Who acclaim the need for a more equitabie share of the gross income from all
equipment. Who are, therefore, becoming the new leaders to bring about a greater and
better tomorrow for all engaged in the industry •
The wheel of fortune has made a complete turn to benefit the industry in every regard.
Youth is taking over - again. Eager, ambitious, powerful youth. With the same youthful
approach their fathers had when they first started out in this business. These young
men are going out to win. To better their businesses. To bring finer recognition to the
industry. To cast off the old and shoddy. Bring into being a new era. Deal with loca-
tions on a more open, more understanding basis. Today's youth means tomorrow's greater
and better undivided industry.

It is, therefore, up to ~very old timer to give to youth the benefit of long exper-
ience and knowledge to create and bring into being a new approach. Here are some sug-
gestions to youth.
1 - Diversify equip't to please all locations.
2 - Specialize firmly in endeavor to bring better pricing for vending, for music
and for amusement.
3 - Give only the very finest service so as to develop, without argumentation, a
"service charge" in keeping with the needs of the operating organization •
4 - Continue to drive for a more equitable division of the gross income to assure
the operating firm progressive profitability and the location a new income concept.
5 - Become a concerned citizen of your community, your state and your nation.
6 - Conduct yourself as an outstanding gentleman at all times and under any and
all conditions.
7 - Gain for your industry the greatest possible respect, regard and the most
outstanding ad.m iration.
This is the approach recommended for today's youth, the fathers' sons who are now
engaging themselves in this industry to help create a better business for tomorrow.
