Lucky Fathers,
Lucky Sons,
1-

Lucky Daughters, Too!
Not too many years ago, perhaps a decade or so ago, fathers would most emphatically
state, "One thing for sure, no son of mine is ever going to be in this business if I
can help it." To this they would add, "That's why I'm sending him to college. To get
educated. To get a profession."
Of course the longest war in American history, the Vietnam war, changed many things,
many thoughts, many viewpoints. The revolt of youth also had a great deal to do with
the changes that have taken place. So when sons got out of the armed services and/or
finished their education they, themselves, decided on a future course in life. They
chose a business with exceptional challenge, the business their fathers had pioneered,
the coin machine business.

Over these same years, the changing economy, with inflation galloping, with the
dollar being twice devalued, with new premium pricing coming into effect in this indus-
try, had created a need for youth. Especially for youth with education in economics
and business administration. For youth with competitive drive to carry on what had now
become more profitable and more enduring businesses.
Whereas sons in their very early years had, more or less, enjoyed a short, part-time
relationship with their fathers' businesses over weekends and during summer vacations
from school, few fathers had believed this would lead to a full and consuming interest
in their businesses. Many fathers, too, have been surprised at the turn events have
taken over the past few years.
The entrance of these young men into this industry of coin automation isn't just
sectional. It's not only happening all over the U.S., but also in countries all over
the world wherever large concentrations of coin machines exist. So that the young men
following in their fathers' footsteps, engaging themselves with today's coin machine
industry will be talking to, and doing business with, their counterparts overseas.
Between them, youth to youth will, as the years roll by, create and develop a new, a
more open, a better recognized and better understood industry on a higher plateau of
respect, cooperation and admiration. Such respect, cooperation and admiration can,
and should, lead to more peaceful procedure and understanding. Perhaps, even help to
eliminate future wars •

This industry can be most sincerely thankful for the father and son combinations
that have come into being with this decade. Not only does this assure the industry
a greater, finer future but even more, it also assures more progressive, youthful
leadership for the years ahead backed up by the long experience and knowledge of
pioneering fathers. Not just second, but even third generation youthful leadership,
is ma.king itself prominent thruout this new industry of fathers and sons. Lucky fathers.
Lucky sons.
And lucky daughters, too, when we think of those young ladies like the very pretty
and charming Miss Jeannie Bunch of Chattanooga, Tenn., who is following in her
mother's, Mrs. Mildred Bunch's footsteps.
