wire brushing. If bits of loose plating
are allowed to remain they will simply
flake off at a later date, contaminating
the mechanism and fouling the action
of the affected part wherever it rubs
against other parts.
After all parts have been polished,
they should be inspected for burrs
or "mushrooming." These areas can
be cleaned up by careful application
to the grinding wheel. Where exten

discard the old screws, nuts, washers,
and pins, as these components are
generally worn, rusty, or otherwise
unusable, It is easier and cheaper
to select a brand new fastener from
a separate bin or box than it is to dig
through a pile of old screws for the
one you need. The bright finish of
the new fasteners always enhances
the appearance of the completed
job, and use of new cotter pins is
recommended as old pins cannot
stand more than a couple of bends

may be reused since replacements
are not handily available, but special

As assembly proceeds, a thin coat

product is superior because it is
light enough to not interfere with
free movement of parts, and it does

Request for help from Montana
We just received the following
way to get something done. Now, if
letter from an interested collector in

I'd like to know if you could give

you have from Montana It would

Dear Editor
I spoke with Steve Cohen from
Maryland on the phone last night,

ways to get the law changed in
Montana. I appreciate your giving
me his name and address. He referred
