ETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Dear Editor,
I really like your new Coin Slot format. Enclosed are some
pics of my collection. Serial numbers are on the back of the
pictures. Do you know of any books I could buy to identify the
Daval CHICAGO CLUB HOUSE, "Double Eagle" version,
left and the Banner LEADER, serial 984 at right.
At left is a German pinball game called BORD GOLF, with a
dollar play Jennings SUN CHIEF at the right.
makers, history, value, etc. of the two pinball machines? I
already have the "100 Most Collectible" series of books and
they're great.
Keep up the good work.
Jack Browning
Dear Jack,
We like plugs.
Thanks for the good words about our
magazine, and for the "100 Most Collectible..." books.
And you ask ...are there any books that identify the makers,
history and values ofpinball machines? The answer is... An
Illustrated Price Guide to the 100 Most Collectible Pinball
Machines, Volume 1 with volume 2 right behind it It's the
pinball book we've all been waiting for.
Fact is, Dick tells us that one ofyour machines is scheduled
for the pinball books, and that's that Hercules Novelty
Mills JEWEL "Hightop," 5C, with markings MLB-7618 on
the mechanism, left, and the DOUBLE SHUFFLE pinball
game without markings, although the date 1931 is on the
mechanism.
Company DOUBLE SHUFFLE you have that is unidentified,
but has the 1931 date on its mechanism. It came out early in
1932.
Which brings us to yourphotos; they're great, and it'sgood to
see some interesting games.
Very truly yours,

1954, Fve been told. Is there any way you can tell me what
model this mechanism went into?
I thank you for any help you can give me.
Sincerely,
Bill Anderson
Dear Bill,
It's kind of hard to tell what machine anybody has from a
serial number alone, but you just might have given us enough
information.
