Friday evening at the cocktail party given for the

auction's participants by Betty and Roy Arrington, the
air was alive with the anticipation of the direction the
bids would take during the next two days. Every where
one could see the notes that individuals had accumu
lated during the preceeding viewing. A sample of
nearly every kind of coin operated device could be
consigned. No matter what an individual had in mind to
find, there was probably at least one piece in the
auction.
The best laid plans even run into snags as the
number of items caused the auction to extend beyond
the 6:00 closing both evenings. The crowd dwindled a
little each day as the time passed from 6:00 on. But, as

Collectors from across the United States and abroad
began gathering at the Riviera on Friday. We recog

become familiar participants at "Arrington's Auction."
Some of the geographical areas which were repre

Illinois, Nebraska, Texas, Ohio, California, Idaho, New
Jersey, Michigan, Minnesota, Arizona, Colorado,
Washington and, of course, Nevada Many more states

the business. His memory for names and faces would
surprise a great many people and even more uncanny
is his ability to recall past happenings and relate them
to the present. When he calls an auction it is inter
spersed with good hearted fun.
