Letters to the Editor continued
Dear Tom,
Thanksfor the letter, and the two year subscription renewal
We added that two year offer at $45 as a money saver and quite
a few subscribers are going for it.
Continued from page 6
or information on any of these machines. I will send more when I
get some more black and white pictures taken.
By the way, how about a little information on the three
machines pictured on the bottom of page 24 of the January, 1982
issue of The Coin Slot. Who owns those beautiful machines?
Keep up the good work. Is there a possibility someone would
write an article on $1.00 machines made prior to 1940?
Sincerely,
Tom Nagelin
FOR SALE:
1906 Caille CENTAUR.
Completely restored,
And thanks for the great pictures and serial numbers. We
passed the serials to the update, but kept the pictures for this
letters section as you ask some questions about them and, well,
they make an otherwise dull page look good.
You ask usfor "any comments or information on any ofthese
machines." With that we could writeforever. But that'sjust the
reason we publish the "100 Most Collectible Slot Machine"
series ofbooks and the detailed Coin Slot Guides. Between the
two series ofbooks you'll learn more about the origin, history,
mechanism and workings of any slot machine than even the
operators themselves knew back in the "Olden Days."
All of the machines you sent photos ofhave been or will be
covered in these books, and we added the information to the
photo captions that go along with this letter. We might add that
some exciting paper discoveries in recent months have helped
the development of the Coin Slot Guides for these machines,
with original copies ofJennings LITTLE DUKE, Caille BEN
mint condition.
HUR and Watling TWIN JACKPOT data material now on
Plating—bronze finish
hand to help with the creation of guides 55, 81 and 51
respectively. So the stuff is on the way. In the meantime, you
can read about all of these machines in the "100 Most
Collectible Slot Machine" series.
