This particular slot looks almost like the one on page 55
in your book with the exception that the award cards are
even on each side of the Jackpot and the bottom panel
around the payout cup is wood. I have to restore it as a few
parts on the cabinet is missing. Below is a couple of
sketches to explain what I wrote.

Dear Editor,
I just picked up another slot Jennings ROCK-OLA J.P.
5C side vendor with the vendor missing.
Here is a run down on the serials. Found the number
50532 on tag inside cabinet and same number on top front
casting right top side next to magnifying glass. Also
found number 4849 at bottom of lower front casting next
to Jackpot pay out cup right side. Also noticed three other
numbers 246, 447, 407 on top bonnet right side on the

What you've got is the circa 1925 Jennings OPERATOR
BELL "Gooseneck" with the wooden lower front
revamped with a late Rock-Ola RESERVE JACKPOT
front. How come the late front [also called the "Short
Front" to fit Jennings Bells) has a wooden bottom and the
earlier front as shown on page 55 of the Volume 1 "An
Illustrated Price Guide to the 100 Most Collectible Slot
Machines" has a metal front? Easy. That Rock-Ola front
in the book is on the later Jennings 1926 OPERATOR
BELL "Dutch Boy" that had a metal base. So what youVe
got is a later front on an earlier Jennings model.
You might like to know that the Volume 1 "100 Slots"
book is being extonsively revised and will be out by
summer. It'll have a lot of new photos to replace those that
were not up to snuff when the first edition came out, as
well as current values and a discussion of pricing slot
machines. That page 55 photo of the Rock-Ola RESERVE
JACKPOT is one of the pictures being changed, so you'll
see a far clearer shot with more detail in the new revised
edition. So, if your Volume 1 is all worn out, or you want
better pictures and up-to-date prices, you'll want to get
the revised edition Volume 1 "An Illustrated Price Guide
to the 100 Most Collectible Slot Machines". It's $15.95

Dear Coin Slot,
The enclosed photo and information is for your serial
number update.
The slot machine which I have is a Caille Grand Prize.
The coinage is 10C, serial number 51874 which is stamped
at the top edge of the top casting, on the frame of the
mechanism and on the inside of the wood cabinet. There is
no tag number within the cabinet.
The front casting is stamped behind the glass in front of
the reels the following:

The machine is in excellent original condition. The cash
box is complete with its sliding top and hatch lock. The
cash box is made of copper.
