Dear Editor,
Enclosed you will find a picture of a slot machine which I
recently rebuilt.
I am interested in knowing the manufacturer of the machine
and also if a coin slot guide is available for this model.
The machine has oak sides, back and bottom. It has a cast
aluminum front with "1776-1924" stamped on the front casting.
An owl is imprinted on the top section of the casting. There are 3
wheels and a .25c coin slot. The payout is 2 to 20 quarters but no
jackpot. The serial number stamped on the front edge of the oak
is #31561. I would like to know the approximate value of this
machine.
Also I would be interested in dates of any slot machine shows
near Rochester, New York in the near future.
Sincerely yours,
Edward G. Ruoff

front casting.
But there's something funny here. That 31,561 serial number
suggests 1915 Mills production, long before the "Owl" Bell was
made. But, if you add a "1" to the serial in front you'll end up
with 131,561 which is right onfor the 1924 OPERA TOR BELL.
Take another look; maybe you missed that "1" the first time.
Yes, there is a Coin Slot Guide. It's No. 24 for the Mills 1918-
1928 Gooseneck Bell Machines.

Dear Editor,
I've acquired an excellent Mills "Dial" Trade Stimulator with
a revolving world map on the front that advances with play.
The sad part is no mechanism lives in this nice case! Any ideas
on who might have a Dial Mechanism for sale?
Thanks,

Dear Edward,
Nice machine, and it carries its identification on its sleeve. It's

We do not personally know of any mechanisms which might
