INSTRUCTIONS FOR CARE OF CHIEF MECHANISM
O. D. Jennings & Co.
1.
Check if bottom of safety slide remains on winning combination,
then returns with the other slides. To protect contents of tube, Do
not use instrument to release payout slide.
2.
Be certain the clock completes its cycle. Proper time for com
pletion of cycle is from 4 to 5 seconds (lapse of time between 1st
and 5th click). By bending the blade of the clock fan, the desired
length for the spinning wheels may be adjusted. Be certain that the
fan blade is free to operate. Check to see if pinion gear is missing
teeth.
3.
Do not hook clock spring to payout tripper arm.
Greasing and oiling at regular short intervals prolongs the life of
the machine. Do not use excessive oil on escalator runways or mov
ing parts. Oil or grease should never be used on the payout slides.
4.
Be certain that you know the cause of the stoppage. When
ordering parts give 1. Model. 2. Denomication. 3. Serial Number.
Never use makeshift parts but order parts from nearest dealer, or
factory.
Replace broken-worn parts with identical parts. Unneces
sary adjustment or bending may put machine out of timing.
