An Act concerning antique slot machines and amending N. J. S.
2A:112-2 and X. J. S. 20:37-7.

Be it enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State
of New Jersey:

1. N. J S. 2A:112~2 is amended to read as follows i

2A:112-2. Any person who has or keeps in his place of business,
3
or other premises, any slot machine or device in the nature of a
4
slot machine, which may he used for the playing of money or other
5
valuable thing, is guilty of a misdemeanor; provided, however, that
6
possession of one or more antique slot machines not operated for
7
gambling purposes shall not be an offense under this section. For
8
the purposes of this section, an antique slot machine is a slot w-a-
9
chine manufactured prior to 1941.

2. N. J. S. 2C :37-7 is amended to read as follows:

20:37-7. Possession of a Gambling Device. A person except a
3
player is guilty of possession of a gambling device when, with
4
knowledge of the character thereof, he manufactures, sells, trans-
5
ports, places or possesses^ or conducts or negotiates any transac-
6
tion affecting or designed to affect ownership, custody or use of:
7
a. A slot machine; or
8
b. Any other gambling device, believing that the same is to be
9
used in the advancement of unlawful gambling activity.
10
Possession of a gambling device is a disorderly pontons of-
11
fense, provided, however, that possession of one or more antique
12
slot machines not operated for gambling purposes atid possession
13
of not more than one slot machine or other gambling device for
14
