Directions For Adjusting Vender
Pocket
The second photo shows
the globes that were used
on different models. You
will note the dimensions
of each type. Two of
these models are referred
to in this article.
Today the round globes
are much more plentiful
and less expensive than
the octagon globes. If
you carefully examine
the globe you will see a
star inscribed into the
The aluminum vender levers used in all "COLUM
BUS" Bulk-Merchandise Machines are equipped with
adjustable fender pockets. If it should be necessary
to change the quantity to be vended, you may easily
make the adjustment to suit yourself. The following
instructions will be helpful.
Firs*,
Unlock the bottom plate at the bottom of
machine
Second, Remove the wing nut on the center rod
inside the machine. This will permit the
machine to be dismantled.
Third,
Lift off the globe and the plate just below
it. This Exposes to view the ALUMINUM
VENDER.
Fourth. On the top of this aluminum vender near
the pocket is found a set screw as shown
at "A". To make the adjustment, loosen
the set screw and move the partition
plate, which is fastened to it, forward
or backward.
This will increase or
decrease the space in the vender pocket
shown at "B". If thi» pocket is set wide
open, the machine will vend a larger
quantity and you receive fewer coins,
If the pocket is closed off, you decrease
the quantity vended and increase the
number of coins received per pound.
You may set the partition at any position
out the star globe.
11 is
possible the globe is new
er or a reproduction of
a globe that simply wor
ked out satisfactorily.
Finally, you will find in
your travels approximately
8 different machines
ranging in price from
$30 to $125. Price dep
ends on the model, decal
and most important, the
color of paint. Based on
my experience, red is the
most difficult to find,
followed by green and
blue. When you see this
