New Twist On Discs
DETROIT-Don't let the cap tion fool
you! This is not a new story about a
frail but an up-to-the·minute story about
the young inventive genius Tom Saffady,
27 years old, and his "music in color."
After producing nearly 75 inventions
which ranged from a plastic beer bottle
cap, to fine precision instruments and rna·
chinery important in the war effort, Saf·
fady has evolved what he terms "plastic
COIN
records in color."
MACHINE
For the past two years Saffady and his
REVIEW
associates, have been testing dyes to be
used in connection with Vinylite in the
pressing of a new type record, which the
out.fit is now ready to market under a
"Vogue" label. The idea will be to use
different colors for different types of re-
FOR
OECEMBER cOl·dings. Records will be pressed on an
aluminum base and will be practically
7945
indestructible.
Ten major artists have already been
signed up and when Saffady gets underway
he intends to produce discs at the rate of
3,000,000 a month.

Seeco Appoints Fox
LOS ANGELES-Seeco Records, New
York, have contracted for pressings of
their Latin-American records on the West
Coast. Harry Fox, veteran record distrib-
utor and factory representative, has been
appointed to head Seeco's Los Angeles
office which will handle the distribution
of the records in the West Coast area.
Signey Siegel, head of Seeco, made the
arrangements on a short trip to the Coast.
Si'sson Moves Offices
ST. JOSEPH, Mich.-Fruit Belt Music
Co, has transferred its offices to larger and
more commodious quarters on Whittlesy
Avenue. Darford Sisson announced the
mo~e as the first step in a planned expan-
sion.
