Lake Home Looted
HOLLYWOOD-The "squirrel habit" ot
storing away for a future use belongs to
the squirrel family only, according to W.
E. Simmons.
Simmons anticipated the shortage of
bourbon sometime back and bought up a
few cases of Old Taylor and Old Granddad
and stored them up at his summer home at
Lake Sherwood. Then along came a dis·
tress auction of canned goods in the ware-
house building he occupies and he bought
up almost a carload of canned stuffs "just
to have them on hand when friends dropped
in unexpectedly."
On a week-end jaunt up to the Lake in
mid·January Simmons found "the friends
( ?)" had visited the place during the week,
loaded up the bourbon and all of the liquor
in a well stocked bar, the canned goods,
five woolen blankets and a $25 fishing reel,
and left leaving the front door wide open.
Identity of "the friends" has not been es-
tablished.
