Rumor in Hollywood has it th at Decca
is dickering for another plant in th ese
pa rts. If so, this marks the second move
in six months to expand production facili -
ti es. Decca's p roduction is fi gured to be
around three million discs per month,
a nd net for the first 9 months of 1944
rolled up a neat $743,832.
Ni ck Ca rter left th e ha mlet on the 8th
for a quick visit to his opera ti ons up in
th e San Joaquin and hea dquartered at
Vi sali a. Back on the 13th.
Check this, jt's good. It seems th at P aul
Laymon sent an opera tor over to Globe
Electronics with a Chicken Sam on . th e
fritz. Globe too k care of the job and sent
him on his way rejoici ng. Laymon phoned
to check and see that hi s custom er was
properly , taken care of. Says Laymon :

Bob Reeder of Coin Machine Service,
Glendale, has a new Chevrolet panel
truck to augment hi s servi ce fl eet for
the coin machin e lads in this a rea. Bob
has two trucks now in operation.
Frank Navarro's servi ce man has co ined
a new name fo r "I Lost You" by Ozie
Waters, Rodeo's new release. He calls it
a " Hillbilly Torch Song." Under any
name, it sure gets the nickels.
R. C. Haimbaugh, director of En gineer-
ing for Wurlitzer, is schedu led to arrive
here on th e 19th fo r a 3.day stay at th e
Ambassa dor.

Mr. and Mrs. P aul Laymon spent the
November 11th week-end with fri ends on
a ranch on the grounds of the An telope
Valley Country Club near Lancaster. This
is the first time the Laymons have been
out of town sin ce the beginnin g of the war.
Ernest E. Harrison, recently released
from th e army, is establishing a local op-
era tion and has been aided by Bill Happel,
of Badger, in getting a fair string of ma-
chin es to start with.
Russell Richardson is caring for th e
Bill Leuenha gen strin g of phonogra phs.
Lou P eters, form er opera tor for Bill, has
gone to Sa int Louis to be with hi s moth er
who is ill.
Dorothy Hanson, form erly wi th Smith's
Automatic Phonogra phs in Chehalis, Wash-
ington, is assisting J ane Carrico Porter at
th e Jack Gutshall office.
