Already bills have found their way into the
legislature restricting Arcades and in many
cities and towns ordinances have been en-
acted curbing hours of operations.
"To offset this adverse trend and to put
the business on a higher plane, it is neces-
sary that all the operators of Penny Arcades
cooperate. This cannot be done without
organization and an understanding of the
other man's problems.
"The operators of these Arcades in Los
Angeles have long realized that some effort
at cooperation must exist between the op-
erators or the business is certain to suffer.
Consequently they qave decided to form an
association of all operators and exhibitors
of Penny Arcades for the purpose of regu-
.lating and controlling influences which
might be detrimental to their businesses."
The association will be a non-profit or-
ganization and an invitation is being issued
to all Arcade men to affiliate with the group
and protect their own best interests. Initia-
tion fee has been set at $25 and offices are
being maintained with attorney Arthur
Mohr at 412 West 6th Street in Los An-
geles.

LOS ANGELES-The California Penny
Arcade Association is the name of a new
Association of Penny Arcade owners and
operators formed here on the first of March.
First meeting was held in. the offices of
Arthur Mohr, well-known coin machine at-
torney who has acted as legal counsel for
the Associated Operators of Los Angeles
County for some little time. The officers
are William Nathanson, president; Arthur
Mohr, vice-president and general counsel;
Robert P . Moran, secretary, and Fred E.
McKee, treasurer. Members of the Board
of Directors are William Nathanson, Lou
Wolcher, Paul L. Gerber, Fred McKee, Ar-
thur Mohr and Robert P. Moran.
In setting forth the purpose of the asso-
ciation the following statement was issued:
"The Penny Arcade business is returning
to where it was 25 years ago and more and
more persons are realizing this fact and are
entering this line of endeavor. With the
influx of these new enterprises new prob-
lems present themselves. City, county and
state authorities are endeavoring to bring
about new rules and regulations .. . new
rules that will cut the earning power and
curtai l the operation of Penny Arcades.

WICHITA, Kansas - W. R. Burtt, "the
Coin Tube Man," reports that business is
at a new high as operators in all parts of
the country are sending in large orders
for tubes for their phonographs, Panorams
and guns.
