5* 35587 Harry James-Frank Sinatra
ALL OR NOTHING AT ALL (FT V)
FLASH (FT)
Harry James and his Orchestra PLUS
the nation's new croon-king. the swoon
Lord of the jitterbugs, the bedroom heart
throb of millions of lassies . • . Frank
Sinatra. Here is a pairing of big names
that is bound to account for a veritable
torrent of nickels in the automatics.
Frankie sings on the first side only and
although the number was recorded a
couple of years ago it is scheduled for
a big build-up by the music publishers
and the platter factory. Frankie sings in
that careless but musical fashion of his
and spares none of the vocal charm that
has parlayed his vocal chords into a
national institution. James supports the
singer nicely and the purely instrumen-
tal moments, which are few, are up to
par. On the reverse side James does one
of his originals which a nice sprinkling
of solos, hot stuU, and such. A moderate-
ly good swing number. However. the
true value is on the Sinatra side and

4* 18545 Jimmy Dorsey
ONLY A ROSE (FT VC)
I'LL FIND YOU (FT VC)
Jimmy Dorsey revives one of Rudolph
Friml's most beautiful numbers and
gives it a rhythmic treatment with Bob
Eberle vocalizing that should re-estab-
lish this oldie in the public fancy once
more. Backing up is a number issued
some time ago and repeated here. It is
a love ballad with more than usual in-
terest at this time. Recommended.
4* T8553, The Song Spinners
COMIN' IN ON A WING AND A
PRAYER (V FT)
JOHNNY ZERO (V FT)
The vocal group. formerly on Musi-
craft. came through with two of the cur-
rently popular war songs that won't of-
fend Petrillo and should satisfy the op-
erator's cravings for a recording of these
numbers. Done in the usual Song Spin-
ners style the numbers are pleasing to
the ear and moderately danceable.
Okeh for any spot.
The satin-smooth Permometal tip fits
t,he record groove perfe~tly.
Minimizes record wear.
Brings out the best in the music.
The fallOrite needle of
coin phonograph operators everywhere.

4* 8030 Juanita Hall Choir
OLD BLACK JOE (V)
MASSA'S IN DE COLD, COLD
GROUND (V)
This famous Choir of Mixed Voices
has taken the eight most popular works
'of Stephen ,Foster for recording on this
quartet of platters. Arrangements are
well worked out and provide for ade-
quate display of the vocal versatility
of the group. Blending of voices is per-
fect and numbers are presented in an
interesting and fascinating manner. Ab-
sence of orchestral background is un-
noticeable. Foster's music has always
been a prime favorite with Americans
and the use of these recordings on auto-
matic phonographs should show well in
the cash box.
4* 7046 Willie Kelly
COMIN' IN ON A WING AND A
PRAYER (FT VC)
YOU'LL NEVER KNOW (FT VC)
Hit records led the field by having
the first recording of Wing and Prayer
but initial stocks soon disappeared
from distributors shelves. Additional
stocks are now appearing and records
should now be on hand for operators.
. A genuine hit number especially well
done by the Kelly combo and worthy of
a top spot on all your phonos. Tune on
reverse side is a ballad from the picture
"Hello. Frisco. Hello" and is excellent
for use in the automatics.
4* 7047 Johnny Jones
IT'S ALWAYS YOU (FT VC)
KATIE WENT TO HAITI (FT VC)
A pair of dandies well recorded by
the Johnny Jones aggregation. Second
tune is from the MGM fiikker "DuBarry
Was a Lady" ,a nd has catchy lyrics.
Recommended.
