desk f.oll.owing a splendid vacati.on trip that

William Happel, Jr_, at Badger Sales, en-
j.oyed a visit during the m.onth with Fabric.o
De M.osaic.os, .of Lacubaya, D. F., Mexic.o.
As a result .of the c.onfab 15 machines went
Mexic.o-ward .on a special permit received
by Happel.
Bill Landes, Pfanstiehl Needle representa-
tive in the West, arrived fr.om San Fran-
cisc.o .on August 28th t.o huddle with Bud
Parr .of General Music.
In t.own at the same time was Bill Hem-
minger, Perm.o Pr.oducts salesman agel', wh.o
st.opped at the Biltm.ore.
C.orp.oral Jack Lam.on, Jr_, s.on .of
the Long Beach .owner .of Al.oha N.ovelty
C.o., visited with his family in August and
returned t.o the Mare Island Naval H.os-
pitaL Y.oung Lam.on j.oined the Marines
f.our years ag.o and when all-hell br.oke .out
at Pearl Harb.or he was w.ounded in the
sh.oulder by shrapneL Later at Midway
Island Lam.on saw f.our .of his c.omrades
bl.own t.o an.other w.orld and had his leg
shattered while in charge .of a machine gun
nest .of five .others besides himself. All but
Lam.on were killed in the attack and he
received six machine gun bullets in his left
leg, with .one shattering the b.one. Previ.ous
t.o his stint in the Islands Lam.on was a
machine gun instruct.or .on the West C.oast.

its fall and has n.ot been heard from since.
Mrs. William Happel, Jr., has been d.oing
s.ome USO w.ork .on bond sales and has been
meeting with her gr.oup .of w.omen at the
Wilshire C.ountry Club. Chances are s.old
.on $25.00 b.onds and pr.ofits .obtained there-
fr.om are turned .over t.o the USO.
Incidentally the Happels are n.ow living
in the Ravensw.o.od Apartments in H.olly-
w.o.od which is .owned by the bux.om Mae
West. Says Bill: "Mae lives .on the fI.o.or
ab.ove, and her manager lives .on the fI.o.or
bel.ow us." T.o which THE REVIEW adds that
steam heat w.on't be necessary in the Hap-
pel's apartment this winter.
Paul E. Cr.owley, f.or 17 years West C.oast

Jack Pfeiffer willl.ong remember the ride

Gutshall gave Pfeiffer the rear seat in the
b.oat and f.orthwith "gave her the gun."
Waves fr.om b.oth sides gave Pfeiffer a c.on-
tinu.ous sh.ower and when the ride was fin-
ished water was dripping fr.om alm.ost every
part .of Pfeiffer's pers.on.
The Flu caught up with Bill C.orc.oran
and laid him l.ow in San Francisc.o. On the
10th Bill was still in bed but d.oing nicely.
Mr. and Mrs. Jean Min th.orne returned
fr.om a three day visit t.o Las Vegas .on
September 8th. They put up at the EI
Ranch.o Vegas while there and Jean s.old
9 Premiers and 1 President despite the fact
that the trip was primarily f.or pleasure.
