Davis Signs Allen
NEW YORK.-Joe Davis, who recen tly
created quite a stir along Tin Pan Alley
when he announced the organization of his
new Beacon Records, the purpose of which
is to help in the exploitation of tunes he
publishes, beat several of the major record-
ing companies to the draw when he signed
Bob Allen and his Orchestra, currently at
the New Pelham Heath Inn,
This will mark the first time that Allen
has been heard on records since his singing
days with Hal Kemp. On his first Beacon
Record date, Allen will record four sides of
which one will be "Keepin' Out Of
Trouble" by Andy Razoff who wrote such
tunes as "Ain't Misbehavin' ", "Christopher
Columbus", "Supposin'" and "Honeysuckle
Rose". Allen will also record the "Air
Raid Warden Song" by Charles and Nick
Kenny. The Beacon Records now have ' a
wide distribution on music boxes through-
out the country, and the first Beacon Rec-
ord of Jerry Wayne's recording of "This
Will Be A Lonesome Summer" has already
gone over the 25,000 mark.

Gutshall Offers Cabinet '
LOS ANGELES-The P lay-More is the
name of a new deluxe replacement cabinet
being offered Musicmen by the Gutshall
Distributing Co. Finished in natural wood,
beautifully grained, the cabinet is a thing
of true beauty. Modernistic glass insert
panels on the front and sides, plus an illu-
minated action flame in the' large center
panel on the front make the cabinet ex-
tremely attractive and the action effect
makes the cabinet a dominant attraction in
any location.
. The Play-More is adaptable for any two
12-record mechanisms as well as any 20
and 24-record mechanisms. Units may be
easily and quickly installed with no undue
fuss or bother. Large center panel on the
front can be removed to provide easy access
to the front of the mechanism when in-
stalling.
"We believe the Play-More fills a need
amongst operators at the present time for a
new, flashy and attractive cabinet that will
provide them with new machine profits on

a very moderate investment. P lay-More is
just such a cabinet," said Jack Gutshall of
the Jack Gutshall Distributing Co.
"Due to the present war program only a
limited number of cabinets can be con-
structed so it will be a case of first come,
first served," concluded Gutshall.

been granted a license to manufacture air-
craft and aircraft parts.

tail structures for fighting planes and even-
tually will construct a new plant to be used
in the manufacture of complete planes un-
der licenses of the Langley Aviation Corp.
